How this shop pays for itself, which links earn us money, and why that money never touches a procedure or a verdict.

The plain version

Some links on this site are referral links. If you click one and later buy something from that company, we earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra — the vendor pays it out of their side of the sale. Those links are marked as sponsored in the page code, which is the honest, machine-readable way to label them.

Any link on this site that starts with /go/ — for example /go/godaddy, /go/hostinger, or /go/squarespace — is a referral redirect. It passes through our tracking-tagged partner link on the way to the vendor's site, which is how the vendor knows we sent you. We use the /go/ pattern deliberately: you can see at a glance, from the URL alone, exactly which links earn us money and which don't. Ordinary internal links and documentation links carry no tracking of ours.

We earn from competitors too — on purpose

This manual documents GoDaddy's website builder, but where the honest answer is a competitor — Hostinger for long-term budgets, Squarespace for design-led sites — we say so, link there, and earn a commission on those referrals as well. That spread is deliberate: because we get paid whichever way a fair comparison lands, no single vendor's commission can pull a verdict toward itself.

What commissions never touch

Procedures and verdicts. Steps are verified against current documentation, prices are quoted with their renewal figures even when the renewal is ugly, and ratings are set before anyone thinks about monetization. No vendor sees our copy before publication, no vendor pays for placement, and no commission rate has ever moved a score. If a page says a product is the wrong choice for you, that sentence earned us nothing — which is the point.

Not affiliated with GoDaddy

SiteWrench is an independent publication. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by GoDaddy Operating Company, LLC — "GoDaddy" and related marks belong to their owner, and we use them only to identify the product this manual documents. Referral commissions are a standard advertising relationship, not a partnership, and they run through the same programs open to any publisher. Questions about any of this go to the contact page.
