Privacy Policy

What we collect

Two things, and only two. First: if you subscribe to email updates, we store the email address you give us, and we use it to send you those updates — nothing else. Second: we run basic analytics that record aggregate page activity — which pages get read, roughly where visits come from, what kind of device they arrive on. We look at this in bulk to see which procedures people actually use; we do not build individual profiles from it.

What we never do

We do not sell your data. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand your email address to anyone else's list. The service providers who process data on our behalf — the email delivery service, the analytics tool — receive only what they need to do their job, and nothing here changes based on who is paying us a commission.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are referral links. When you click one, the destination company may set its own cookies to attribute a later purchase to us; that tracking happens on their side and under their privacy policies, not ours. How those links work, which companies are involved, and what they pay us is laid out plainly in our affiliate disclosure.

Cookies

This site sets the minimum it can get away with: whatever the analytics tool needs to count a visit, and nothing built for advertising. Vendors you click through to may set their own cookies once you land on their sites, as described above. Blocking cookies in your browser will not break any procedure on this site.

Your data, your call

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and it works the first time. If you want to know what we hold about you, want it corrected, or want it deleted entirely, email [email protected] — details on reaching us are on the contact page. For subscribers, that is one address in one list, so removal is quick and total.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change — a new tool, a new type of data — this page changes first, in plain language, before the practice starts. We treat this policy the way we treat every procedure in the manual: it describes what actually happens, or it gets revised.
